Acclaimed Director Allen Farst and Former The Chosen COO Adam Swerdlow Team Up for Osgood

A Bold New Entry in the Faith-Based Cinematic Canon

In what promises to be one of the most emotionally resonant and spiritually gripping cinematic releases of the last decade, award-winning filmmaker Allen Farst has joined forces with Adam Swerdlow, the former Chief Operating Officer of The Chosen, to bring the miraculous true story of Osgood to the big screen.

Allen Farst, a visionary director celebrated for the award winning Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man and Triangle Park, brings his signature cinematic style and emotional precision to the helm of Osgood. With storytelling rooted in authenticity, Farst has reached millions of viewers—from Delta Airlines' in-flight platform to packed NFL markets—proving his uncanny ability to translate quiet human courage into wide-reaching impact.

Now, Farst sets his lens on a story unlike any he has told before: the extraordinary spiritual journey of Karen Homan, a mother and farmer from rural Ohio who, after 27 heart surgeries, hears a divine call to “build a restaurant” and goes on to raise $2 million to create the Do Good Restaurant and Ministry in Osgood, Ohio.

“We’re aiming to create a film that doesn’t just play in theaters—it lives in people’s hearts long after the credits roll.” said Farst.

Adding further gravity to the project is Adam Swerdlow, who served as COO of The Chosen—the most-watched faith-based series in history, viewed by over 280 million people globally. Swerdlow’s experience scaling The Chosen into a global phenomenon through strategic operations, distribution, and fan engagement brings a powerful commercial and cultural edge to Osgood’s ambitions.

“Adam’s operational leadership and deep understanding of the faith-based audience landscape give Osgood a foundation not just for success, but significance,” said Executive Producer Daniel Kipp, a 40-year business veteran and Executive Producer.

With a script written by Farst himself, a legendary score by Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers), and a top-tier team including Steven Fracol (DP, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal), the film is expected to follow the trajectory of recent prestige faith-based hits such as Sound of Freedom, Father Stu, and Jesus Revolution.

The film’s theatrical release is strategically positioned during Lent 2027—a window historically linked with spiritually themed films and ideal for award season momentum. Early positioning suggests the film will be submitted to major film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, and Berlin, with eyes on both critical acclaim and cultural relevance.

Set in the heartland of America but universal in theme, Osgood transcends its geographic and religious roots. It’s a film about purpose, perseverance, and the miraculous beauty of listening to a divine whisper—even when the world tells you it’s impossible.

“We are not just building a movie,” says Swerdlow. “We are building a movement. One that asks: What happens when we truly surrender to something greater than ourselves?” A movie with with deep impact for the Kingdom!
